Mini & Maxi Skip Bags (Come Flat Packed)

The skip bag is ideal for light Builders Waste, DIY purposes, Household Waste, Kitchen Units, Bathroom Suites, Garden Waste etc.

Skip Bags are made from a strong plastic, designed to hold up to 1 ¼ tonne of building, garden and DIY waste (Maxi Bag holds up to 2 tonnes). A popular alternative to traditional skip hire, skip bags are especially useful for properties with difficult access to a skip loader.

One of the main benefits to skip bag hire, is that you can load the waste in your own time - simply storing the bag until you’re ready to load it. Then you simply make a call to MacNabb Bros to make collection.

Beware the price you pay for the skip bag (Approx £5.00) does not include collection, and this is normally about another £60, depending on your location. Please contact the office directly for a quote or send us an enquiry form.

Skip Bag Instructions

  • Take care of your Skip Bag. Skip Bags are very strong but may be weakened if damaged. Check your bag after unpacking it and avoid puncturing or tearing it during use. Do not use the bag to dispose of sharp objects, hot ashes or anything that may penetrate or tear it.
  • Positioning the Skip Bag. Always do this before you start to fill it. You may not be able to move it later and any attempt to do so might result in you damaging the bag or injuring yourself. You should not place your Skip Bag on public highways, pavements or verges without obtaining prior permission to do so from your local authority.
  • Getting ready for collection. A large lorry equipped with a crane will collect the bag. The lorry needs to be able to position itself within 4 metres of the bag whilst standing on the public highway. The crane cannot reach more than 4 metres from the lorry. You must ensure that the bag is well clear of walls, fences, trees, overhead wires, or anything else that might obstruct the operation of the crane.
  • Filling the Skip Bag. Please ensure that you distribute the weight evenly and do not overload or fill the bag above the top edge. The maximum weight is 1 ¼ tonne for the Mini Skip Bag and 2 tonne for the Maxi Bag; the crane will not be able to lift any weights greater than this. It should be noted that the bags are designed for the disposal of ordinary household, garden and builders waste only. They must not be used for the disposal of asbestos, tyres, batteries, oil, pesticides, clinical waste, freezers, refrigerators or gas bottles (See other unsuitable materials in Terms & Conditions). Failure to comply with this direction could put you in breach of strict environmental protection laws. If you are in doubt whatsoever, call us for advice.
  • Calling us to arrange collection. Our telephone lines are operational between 8:00am and 5:00 pm Monday to Friday and 09:00am to 12:00 noon each Saturday. Please be ready to tell us the precise location of the bag, credit/debit card details or, if applicable, the details of your credit account with MacNabb Bros Waste Management (collection will not be actioned until payment has been received). We aim to collect your Skip Bag within 5 working days, starting from the day after your request. If two or more Skip Bags are ready for collection from the same address you will be entitled to a discount for the second and any subsequent bags.
  • Conditions. Please note that we reserve the right to refuse collection if a bag is positioned beyond the reach of our lorry, crane operation is obstructed, our driver cannot gain safe access to the collection site, the bag is overloaded, overfilled, damaged or contains anything other than ordinary household, garden or builders waste. Should collection be refused for any reason you will not be entitled to a bag refund.
